Calendars

For several years now I have been publishing calendars for my relatives at Christmas. I have decided to make these available here as well, as they are a good showcase of some of my work.

Each photo contains a caption/description in the calendar, with 13 photos per calendar (cover + 12 months). (Starting in 2010, the back cover also has a photo, for 14 photos.) The calendar photos are suitable for printing in the PrintRes flavors of the calendars..

2019 - Eastern Sierra

The 2019 calendar contains photos from a fall trip we took to the Eastern Sierra. Our primary goal was to see fall colors, but there is lots more to see over there..

2016 Bonus Calendar - Sunsets

For 2016 I made an additional 13-month calendar (it goes through January 2017). This was partly to help me experiment with creating a calendar in a new software program, and partly to give me an excuse to make a calendar containing sunset photos. I happen to like sunsets, and I've had a couple of other people ask if I could make an all sunset calendar. I suspect other people will get bored with having nothing but sunsets for a year. But either way, feel free to check it out.

2008 - Glacier & Crater Lake National Parks

In early summer 2006 I took a trip to Crater Lake National Park, and in late summer I took a trip to Glacier National Park.

For some reason Adobe Acrobat refuses to compress this file like it does the others, so all you get is Print Res of this one.

2007 - Unfortunately there was no 2007 calendar published.

2006 - Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Local California

In 2005 I took a late summer trip to Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. Although I used a few photos from this tirp for my calendar in 2006, I ended up taking many photos near my home in Northern California that I used as well. Many of these photos were taken within 1 mile of my house, which servers as a reminder you don't have to travel a long way from home just to have photo opportunities.

2005 - Mt. Rainier, Mono Lake, and Local California

In early summer 2004 I took a trip to Mono Lake in CA, which turned out to be a great place to photograph birds. In late summer 2004 I visited Mt. Rainier National Park. As it rained almost every day we were there, I believe the proper pronunciation really should be Mt. "Rain"-ier. I also included quite a few photos taken from near where I live in Northern CA.

2004 - South Dakota and Wyoming

In 2003 I finally replaced my 20 year old pickup truck with a new one, so we took an opportunity that summer to take a longer trip, traveling as far east as South Dakota (about 1900 miles from my home in California, despite that fact that much of the country still considers the Dakotas part of "The West"). This was also the year that I got a DSLR (as opposed to film SLRs which I had used for roughly the previous 25 years), which had a far bigger impact on my photography than I could have ever imagined.

I believe this is a Crimson Columbine, but I don't claim to be a flower expert. I know it was photographed in Lassen Volcanic National Park in 2001.
